For candle maintenance and ease, we have chosen the beautiful Nocturna wick trimmer. Matte black with an intricate engraving detail, your trimmer will arrive in a black velvet keepsake bag.

HOW TO:

Use this tool to carefully trim excess wick between burns.  After candle has cooled, trim away the wood wick's blackened tip.  Trimming ensures the best, safest burn. If you ever notice your flame is growing too high - extinguish your candle, allow for cooling, and trim the wick.

Enhance your candle experience

Candles come in two sizes; Small (170g) or Large (260g) for burn times of 35hrs or 55hrs respectively. They live in reusable glass amber jars, with timber lids, and are packed in a recyclable kraft box. And the good news is: All of our wax refills are compatible with these jars - to bring your favourite candle back to life.

To ensure the best possible experience with your candle:

The initial burn should be at least one hour, OR as much time as is required for the melt pool to cover the entire candle surface. This ‘imprinting’ process will encourage an even burn for the candle's lifetime.

Following each burn, trim both wooden and cotton elements of the wick down (you can use a wick trimmer, scissors or nail clippers), to approx 3 mm.

Remove any char from the wick before re-lighting.

If the wick is burning poorly or drowning in the melt pool: extinguish the flame, remove some liquid wax by dabbing with a paper towel, then relight the candle.

A white surface on the wax (frosting) may occur over time due to temperature changes, and our choice to steer clear of artificial preservatives. Don't be alarmed!
Your candle will still burn perfectly.

After you've enjoyed your candle... there comes a time to grant it a new life!

Once your candle is finished, use these methods to remove the remaining wax:

Removing the lid, place glass jar in freezer for an hour. Remove, and remaining wax will pop out easily. Alternatively place jar in direct sunlight, or use a hair dryer to soften the wax. Pull out the wick tab, and using a paper towel, wipe off or pour out any remaining wax.

The label can be easily removed by hand and some water. Use tea tree or eucalyptus oil to rub off any glue residue. The coloured glass is painted on the outside, so we do not recommend scratching with a knife or putting in the dishwasher.

You can always revive your candle by using our wax refills!

All of our candles are 100% natural. We hand pour each one, using 100% essential oils, pure coconut soy wax and a wood wick/cotton combination for crackling and reliable burn.

We invite you to use our creations to slow down, lean into the beauty of slowmade, hand made... and all natural goodness.
